You Lifted It. Now Give Yourself Something to Hold On To.

Blue and black paracord handle attached to a car's sun visor.

Trucks and SUVs are being lifted like never before. Four inches used to be a big lift. Now we see six and eight inches on vehicles that were never designed to sit that high.

The look is great. Getting in is another story.

The problem nobody plans for

Take a lifted 1989 Blazer with no running boards and no grab handles. To climb in, you grab whatever is there: the door, the steering wheel, the A-pillar trim. Then you hang your body weight on it and swing a leg up.

None of those parts were built to be a handhold. Doors can sag on their hinges over time. Pillar trim can crack or pull loose. And when your grip slips on a wet morning, there is nothing solid to catch you.

On a stock-height vehicle, a missing grab handle is a small annoyance. On a lifted one, it is a real safety issue.

It's not about age or fitness

This isn't only a concern for older drivers. A 20-year-old athlete in peak shape still has to deal with:

  • Height. A big lift puts the floor well above knee level.

  • Footing. Rain, ice, mud, or a sloped driveway make that first step slick.

  • Angles. Tight parking can force you to climb in from the side instead of straight on.

  • Full hands. Coffee, a phone, a bag. Sometimes you just need one solid point to pull on.

Truck drivers are taught to keep three points of contact when climbing into a cab. A grab handle gives you that third point, right where your hand naturally reaches.

A small upgrade that makes a big difference

Compared with most custom work, grab handles are one of the most affordable upgrades we offer, and many installs are done in a single visit. Pair them with running boards or power steps, and getting into a lifted rig feels as easy as a stock one.
